Vantage Point

The beginning is promising. But all falls down as the film is advancing... more and more ridiculous. And finally the movie is a disaster. And of course, it is very strange to see a lot of people with obvious Mexican faces, all of them filling the Castilian square of Salamanca. Pathetic ;))

The Spiderwick Chronicles

It is an interesting movie if you like the fantasy films. The only problem is that when you see it, you feel that we already saw the movie before, because after Arthur and the minimoys, the seeker: the dark is rising, or the Narnia chronicles, and Bridge to Terabithia, this story, with children and creatures of fantasy, is not new. But at least the script is not bad and the effects are cool.

The Kite Runner

Two words: wonderful movie. It is one of the best movies I have seen this year. The story is brilliant, and it let you enter in the story since the beginning of the film. The kids are amazing. And the film is a good example about the consequences of the war and the stupid and fanatic mentality of the islamist societies. The scenes of Kabul, and the Afghan mountains and deserts, are great.

Jumper

This movie was better than I thought. The idea is very original and the especial effects are great. It is a fun movie to enjoy an evening at a theather with a good system of image and sound.

Horton Hears a Who!

This is a really cool movie if you have nephews to see it! They will be perfect to use them as a good excuse to enjoy this movie ;) The quality of the animation is superb and the story is not boring at all for adults. The animators are the same of Ice Age, but I think this is technically better made. The textures, the models and the movements are great (I am looking forward to seeing Ice Age 3 next year 2009 to check the improvements of this team regarding to the first and second parts).

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

Brilliant movie! I'm a total fan of Tim Burton... and this film is pure Burton cinema! I enjoyed with the old London streets and the dark and dirty environment of the XIX century in that city. The music and songs are fantastic, and Johnny Depp does not sing bad having in count that he is not a professional singer. If you like the Tim Burton films, I recommend to you this movie.

10,000 B.C.

I had big hopes about this movie, but it is not as good as I would like. At least is a fun adventure, and you can enjoy the story and the amazing special effects with popcorn and coke... but that is all.

Charlie Wilson's War

Really interesting movie. Tom hanks is fine as Wilson, but Philip Seymour Hoffman is the best of all the cast without a doubt.

There Will Be Blood

A good movie... It is not very original, because the story could be a mix of several old films, but the performance of Daniel Day Lewis is fantastic.

The Other Boleyn Girl

Natalie Portman makes the best work of the film's cast, but the full film is quite good. I enjoyed it a lot, and the movie is a fantastic example about how sex and passion (mixed with lots of ambition) can change the world, the history... and even the religion and the future of million of people, and how the consequences of those passional acts have influenced in lots of countries and lots wars in Europe for centuries. Nice movie.
